Apaizak Obeto

Apaizac Obeto is a documentary that tells the story of Basque fishermen traveling to Canada in the 16th century. On the expedition, six Basques and a Canadian Mic’maq Amerindian attempted to experience life as 16th-century sailors. Over 41 days, they traveled 2,000 kilometers from Quebec to Labrador, searching for the traces left by 16th-century Basques in whale and cod fishing. It was an expedition organized by the Albaola Sea Culture Factory.
